Pair of light blue grooming gloves with grey rubber nubs on the palm and fingers.
  • Nubs on one side lift loose hair while you pet him.
  • Ridges on the other side clear the hair he left on the couch.
  • Breathable mesh with silicone pads, so your hand stays comfortable.
  • Works in the bath to spread shampoo through a wet coat.

The problem: hair on everything you own

You stand up from the couch in black pants, and the back of your legs is covered in short, pale hairs.

A Frenchie has no long coat to brush out. His hair is short and fine, it sheds all year, and it works its way into cushions and sweaters. A lint roller mostly moves it around.

The fix: a glove you pet him with

This grooming glove goes on your hand. One side has rows of silicone nubs, the other side has fine ridges.

You pet him the way you already do every evening, and the loose hair comes off on the glove instead of on your jeans. No tool to hold, no wrestling match, no new routine for him to learn.

When you are done, flip your hand and run the ridged side over the cushion he just left. The hair that landed there comes up too.

What you get

A soft mesh glove with silicone pads, made to be worn on the right hand. The mesh lets your hand breathe, and the pads do the work.

It is one size, so lay your hand flat next to the table below before you order. It also works in the bath: wet him down, add shampoo, and work it through his coat in small circles with the nubs side. Keep it away from his face, rinse it under running water, and let it dry.

Who it suits, and who it does not

It suits the Frenchie owner who pets their dog every day anyway and wants the hair to end up on the glove. It suits the dog who leans in when you scratch his shoulders.

It will not stop shedding. Nothing you wear on your hand does. It lifts loose hair from the surface, and a thick undercoat in a heavy shed needs more than a glove.

Skip it if you are left-handed and want it on your dominant hand, because it is made for the right hand only. Skip it if your hand is wider than the glove, since the fit will be snug. And if you notice bald patches or sore skin, that is a question for your vet, not for a glove.

How to start

On the first day, put it on and let him sniff it. Pet him on the shoulders with the nubs against his coat, light pressure, in the direction the hair grows. Give him a treat when he stays put.

Next, do the back, the chest and the rump. Keep the nubs off his face and out of his wrinkle folds. When hair builds up on the glove, pinch the edge and peel it off.

Keep it out of his mouth. A grooming glove is not a chew toy.

Check the size table above, then pick your glove and add it to the cart.

Frequently asked

Does a grooming glove work on a French Bulldog?
Yes, for loose hair on a short coat. The nubs lift hair from the surface as you pet him. It will not remove a thick undercoat, so in a heavy shed expect to need more than a glove.
How often should I use it?
Go by the hair on the glove. A quiet week needs less, a heavy shed needs more. Short sessions are enough, and if he walks off, stop and try again tomorrow.
What size is the glove?
It is one size. Lay your hand flat next to the size table on this page before you order. If your hand is wider than the glove, the fit will be snug.
Is it for the right hand or the left?
The right hand. It has two working sides, nubs and ridges, but it is not made to switch hands.
Can I use it in the bath?
Yes. Wet him, add shampoo, and work it in with small circles of the nubs side. Keep it away from his face. Rinse the glove under running water and let it dry.
